Scientists from Argentina, Belgium, Japan, Slovakia, Spain and Taiwan have expressed their support for the Czech SOVA space mission. The mission is led by OHB Czechspace in cooperation with the Czech Academy of Sciences and aims to send the largest Czech satellite into orbit in 2028 to collect data in the middle and upper parts of atmosphere.
Consortium led by OHB Czechspace as the prime contractor supported by CTU, IRS and OHB System passed their first project Milestone of the Nuclear Electric Propulsion (NEP) program, so called “RocketRoll”, this week.
On July 14th, final of the Czech Rocket Challenge will take a place at the airport in Medlanky, Brno. The competition is organized for high school and university students who design and build their own rockets. This Friday, more than 20 teams will launch their rockets. You can also look forward to two accompanying launches and the launch of the Sherpa rocket made by the Czech Rocket Society. OHB Czechspace is a partner of this society.
At the beginning of this year, European Space Agency's backup astronaut Ales Svoboda accepted invitation to a panel discussion at OHB Czechspace. The discussion for students of aeronautics and astronautics of BUT was held in the form of an interview, which was led by Ondrej Slajs, one of our employees.

These and other future space missions could benefit from new propulsion system based on nuclear power. The possibilities of its use are now being investigated by the ESA, which launched several feasibility studies in March, and one of them is led by us.
